Logan Sargent ready for the home race in Miami

Logan Sargent is optimistic about the Miami Grand Prix at home. The American driver and the entire Williams team are looking forward to a productive race weekend.

Dave Robsonchief engineer: “This weekend’s grand prix will be run in the traditional format, so we have time in free races to work on the development of the car and on the settings, and the drivers will appreciate the changes on track compared to to last year.

After the 2022 race, the track was repaved and we need to understand how the new surface affects tire performance. Pirelli brought in a “middle” trio of setups that should offer a good compromise between qualifying speed and race efficiency.

The forecast promises mostly sunny and warm weather, which also affects the efficiency of tires and car settings, and the cooling system will work to the limit.

In Baku, our vehicles were damaged, but the base team worked hard to repair them and prepare spare parts. We arrive in Miami fit and ready for the challenges of this fast-paced anti-clockwise circuit.

The Miami Grand Prix was a great addition to the championship calendar and a home race for Logan, who will race here in Formula 1 for the first time. The American fans will give Logan a lot of support and motivation and we will try to give them a great show.”

Alex Albon: “Last year the track in Miami seemed interesting to me and one of the most difficult from a physical point of view due to heat and humidity. The race itself is tough, but for this year’s stage the organizers have changed the tarmac and I hope it will have an effect.

I have fond memories of last year when I finished ninth. The upcoming race will be special, as it will be home to the team and Logan. I’m sure we’ll have a great atmosphere and we can look forward to a good weekend.”

Logan Sargent: “I am really looking forward to my first home race. I am gearing up for a tough weekend, given the heat and not knowing the track, but my energy and motivation are gone.

It’s going to be a very special weekend and I’ll try to have fun!”
