Lando Norris answered some of the questions fans most often ask of the Google search engine, as this company is one of the partners of the McLaren team.
Q: Do you have brothers or sisters?
Lando Norris: I have two sisters and an older brother. Both sisters are younger than me. They are all glorious! My brother and I once drove karting together. Flo, the eldest of the sisters, is engaged in equestrian sports, and the youngest does what she wants, because she is the smartest of the family and is studying at university.
Q: What cars do you drive off the track with?
Lando Norris: Good question! In fact, I recently got my first personal McLaren 765 LT sports car (limited edition, 765 built) and it’s one of the craziest cars out there. I chose the package myself, and everything is as I want it, including the colors.
But I got the car quite recently and didn’t even have time to drive it. I will drive that every day. And I also have a Fiat Jolly, and this car is the opposite of McLaren.
Q: What is your favorite food?
Lando Norris: I prefer Italian food, but I also like something closer to Japanese or Asian food, especially Thai food. Something from this region, but no sushi, no fish or seafood.
Q: Why don’t you like fish?
Lando Norris: I don’t know, I don’t like it, that’s all. I don’t like the taste, I don’t like the smell, I don’t like the way it looks. So there are plenty of reasons.
Q: Do you have a favorite song?
Lando Norris: Favorite song? Perhaps Last Last from the repertoire of Burna Boy (Nigerian artist working in the Afrobeats genre).
Question: What is your favorite color?
Lando Norris: I can give an unequivocal answer to this question: my favorite color has always been fluorescent yellow. My helmets are painted in it. And also gray – since childhood I race in overalls and boots in gray. My new car also has elements of gray – I don’t like it when there’s a lot of it, but some details have that color.
Question: What is your favorite song?
Lando Norris: There is not one song that I like the most. But I can say I like Suzuka, Spa, Singapore – maybe these three. I enjoy every time I perform there.
Q: Why are you below the fourth digit in Formula 1?
Lando Norris: There is no deep meaning in this. Many riders have raced under the same number throughout their career, but this is not the case with me. I just liked it the most, and besides, on my logo, consisting of my initials, there is a gap in the form of a “four” between the letters L and N, so this number suits me – everything is simple.
Q: Where did you grow up?
Lando Norris: I grew up in the countryside near Glastonbury in Somerset. We can say that this is a hinterland, far from big cities, but it is quiet and calm there, because there are few people, and these are very beautiful places.
Q: Who is your best friend?
Lando Norris: I have so many friends it’s hard to choose, but there are a few guys I grew up with. I was 12-13 years old at the time and we spent a lot of time together.
Q: Who is your race engineer?
Lando Norris: Many people probably know, but for those who don’t, I’ll say this is William Joseph. He has been my race engineer since the very first F1 testing, he has been in F1 for many years and was once Fernando Alonso’s race engineer. Will is a great specialist, thanks to him my life is much easier and better, and he is the only one who communicates with me on the radio during the races. Together with him we have achieved something and we will try to achieve new successes!
