Alpine Academy member Victor Martin will make his Formula 1 debut next week. The French driver, who won Formula 3 last season, will take over the wheel of a 2021 Alpine A521 to test at Monza on Monday. On Tuesday he will be relieved at the wheel of the Alpine by the team’s reserve driver, Jack Doohan.
Victor Martin: “I am really looking forward to my first Formula 1 test, which will take place in Monza on Monday. This is the first time I’ve had to work so closely with the Alpine team on track and I’m excited to be able to try out a Formula 1 car. I will try to spend as much time on the track as possible. and have fun.
I am grateful to Alpine and the whole team for this opportunity. I already went through the seat fit and worked on the simulator – it was very interesting. Now I’m looking forward to getting out on track and learning as much as I can.”
In 2023, Victor Marten will drive in Formula 2 for the ART team. After eight races due to his two podiums and 15th place in the standings.
