Charles Leclerc: I don’t consider myself an artist at all

The interests of drivers are not limited to motorsport, and some of them are of interest not only to the public thanks to victories on Formula 1 circuits. For example, Lewis Hamilton’s various social initiatives or Sebastian Vettel’s statements on the environment subjects are known.

And Charles Leclerc recently got people talking about himself by publishing a piece of music of his own composition for the first time. At the same time, the Ferrari driver is very modest about his talents in this area, he said in an interview with ESPN.

Charles Leclerc: “I don’t consider myself an artist at all – I’m far from that. But I did it because I love music very much and two years ago I started learning to play the piano. On social networks, I posted stories on this topic and received many requests to share. That’s why I released this piece, although I understand there’s nothing special about it.

But I was interested in composing and recording it – in general this is a very pleasant experience, although I am first and foremost a racer and for me the most important thing is to win victories on the tracks. But if people like and listen to my music, then it’s generally fine.

In terms of sources of inspiration, I like the work of the composer Hans Zimmer, although I am not as talented as him, and I understand that the flight of my inspiration is very limited by my modest performing abilities. I also really like Coldplay, but I don’t focus on it, these musicians are too good for me! I just do what I can.”
