Five of the ten teams in the championship have prepared some kind of technical innovation for the Miami Grand Prix, which they told the press before the start of practice on Friday.
Ferrari
Ferrari has introduced a new floor pan, the effectiveness of which was tested during the first session of the free race compared to the standard version. In the new version, the front and middle parts of the bottom, as well as the diffuser, have undergone changes.
Alfa Romeo
The Swiss team’s cars could see the option of an optional low-drag rear wing if Alfa Romeo deems it more suitable for the US track.
Aston Martin
The AMR23 has been given additional fins to improve cooling efficiency as temperatures approach 30 degrees on weekend days in Miami.
hare
For the Florida stage, the US team has prepared the most important technical update since the start of the season: a modernized floor, which ensures optimal air pressure distribution, as well as more efficient control of the flow around the car on the sides.
The teams continue to experiment and change the geometry of the central part of the soil, located between the Venturi tunnels. According to the calculations of aerodynamicists, this can give additional energy to the vortices that form in this area, respectively, the flow speed increases and the downforce increases.
AlphaTauri
AlphaTauri continues the process of upgrading the car that began with the Australian leg of the season. At Miami, the AT04 received a redesigned front wing and the shape of the rear-view mirror housings also changed. Improvements are aimed at giving extra speed to the flow around the car from above – this will improve the efficiency of the chassis at low speeds.
The Alpine, McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull Racing and Williams teams have not reported any updates.
