Guanyu Zhou and Valtteri Bottas finished thirteenth and fourteenth respectively in the second session in Miami. Alfa Romeo claims the car looks more competitive than last week in Baku and there are chances to fight for a good result in qualifying.
Guanyu Zhou (13th): “Good day to me – I feel like we’ve taken a step forward between sessions. Track conditions have noticeably changed and improved, and I’m happy with the car.
The driving feel is good, but you need to find a bit more speed to compete on Saturday. However, compared to last week we are in better shape and we will build on that in qualifying.”
Valttery Bottas (14th): “Friday it was important to spend as much time on track as possible and despite the red flags we were able to work out some productive sessions. Due to the new asphalt, the track was quite slippery in the first practice session, but the condition gradually improved.
The car feels balanced and in terms of speed we seem better and closer to the rivals than in Baku. The result is more or less as expected. The aim is to work with the settings and take a step forward – we will try to get as high as possible in qualifying. The gaps are minimal, so there is something to fight for.”
