Formula 1 Manager Stefano Domenicali said he wanted the French Grand Prix to return to the competition calendar.
“More than anyone, I want France back on the calendar, but it takes the effort that others do. You can’t expect to get an F1 stage just because the offer came from France.
The day President Macron tells me that he wants to discuss this, talk about the return of France, I will fly away immediately. If he wants to discuss, I will be there as soon as he wants to talk”, quotes the words of Domenicali RMC Sport in reference to L’Equipe.
The French Grand Prix was included in the calendar of the World Championship from the first season from 1950 to 2008. After ten years of absence, in 2018 the French Grand Prix returned to the calendar. But in 2023, France will again not host a Formula 1 race.
