Athletistic/Formula-1. Charles Leclerc’s crash on the final leg of the third quarter of the 2023 Miami Grand Prix left fans disappointed. Monegasque was on the limit before losing the back of his car in the first sector.

Leclerc’s crash meant Sergio Pérez automatically secured pole position, with Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz starting behind the Mexican on Sunday. Max Verstappen lost the most as he was unable to show his fastest lap in the third segment due to oversteer in the first sector.

As a result, the championship leader will start Sunday’s race in ninth place and will have to work hard if he wants to score the maximum points. Meanwhile, the Monegasque is ahead of the Dutchman in seventh place.

Verstappen’s starting position on Sunday is disastrous for his championship hopes as rival Sergio Pérez will start first. Moreover, Perez is only six points behind the Dutchman in the league.

The Ferrari driver made a similar mistake in Friday practice, ending the session early after crashing his SF-23 into the Tecpro barrier at the same corner.

Fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the Ferrari driver, where they questioned his ability to drive well, without making mistakes. The Monegasque rider lost to Max Verstappen for the 2022 title and ended up having to settle for second place in the standings.

A fan has called Charles Leclerc “overrated” due to his accident proneness, expressing his displeasure with the Ferrari driver. He also called Leclerc pathetic.

Sadi Ahmed: “Charles Leclerc is an overrated driver. He crashes his car at almost every race. Pathetic!”

Another fan pointed out that Charles Leclerc needs to work on his consistency if he wants to become world champion in the future.

Denis Van Pouk: “If Leclerc wants to be a future F1 champion, he will need a faster car and more stable driving.”

Another fan commented on Leclerc’s all-or-nothing approach, pointing out that the driver either performs very well or breaks down, has no common ground and doesn’t learn from his mistakes.

However, all is not lost for Charles Leclerc as he will start Sunday’s race in seventh place ahead of 2022 championship rival Max Verstappen. It will be interesting to see where the Monegasque runner ends up in Miami.
