Fernando Alonso finished third in Miami and took the podium for the fourth time this season. His teammate Lance Stroll scored no points and finished the race in twelfth.
Fernando Alonso (3rd): “The car is great, but I drove alone most of the race. I couldn’t do anything with the Red Bull drivers up front, and as for the rivals behind, I was expecting a battle with Ferrari, but they looked a little worse than expected. It wasn’t easy, racing is never easy, but I did it alone.
At the start of the season, the podium was considered a great result, but after four third places we want more – at least second place. However, the Red Bull drivers seem out of reach and are always lightning fast. Maybe we will get opportunities in Monaco and Barcelona.
We have earned a podium and are now preparing for the podiums we have built up in Imola, Monaco and Barcelona. I hope we continue to show good results.”
Lance walk (12th): “It wasn’t my weekend. On Saturday I performed poorly in qualifying, but in the race I did everything I could. It is difficult to overtake on this circuit, I drove almost the entire distance in the “DRS train”. The match was tough.”
