At the first home round of the season in Miami, Logan Sargent performed poorly – the Williams driver damaged his front wing on the first lap trying to overtake Lance Stroll. Logan had to return to the pits to replace the damaged element and switch to hard tyres, which prevented him from battling rivals.
Sargent finished last and took the blame for his poor performance on stage five.
“The start turned out to be normal, but in the second sector I misplaced the car on the track and damaged the front wing,” Racingnews365 quoted Logan Sargent as saying. “It ruined my race. But then I managed to run 54 laps on hard tires – this segment turned out to be quite good. From the very beginning we had fairly conservative balance settings, which I stuck to throughout the entire journey.
Anyway, it’s a shame that this happened. A mistake on the first lap ruined our chances and I apologize to the team. I will take note of what happened and move on.
I enjoyed the weekend, even though the race was painful. I hate it when things turn out like this, but I enjoyed the weekend and I’m not going to stop there.”
