Alpine team leader Otmar Szafnauer believes that the lack of stability of the results is partly due to the lack of a modern simulator.
Otmar Szafnauer: “Larger teams have much better modeling tools. Before the start of the weekend, use all available resources to calculate the required settings. And if our modeling tools work, so you can get on stage with working settings, then the weekend is going well. And if not, we start it one step behind the competition, get feedback from the riders, make adjustments and then add.
We acquired a new, modern simulator, in a year and a half or two it will give us the desired effect. We’ve hired people who can help us with more accurate calculations – if you can do all this work before you get to the track, you can get started right away.
