Formula 1 drivers, including former ones, are distinguished by good health and excellent physical fitness, although not everyone shows that off the track. But for example Jenson Button enjoys triathlons, Mark Webber until recently held the Tasmania Challenge competitions and Valtteri Bottas organizes a duathlon every year in his home country and runs through the Finnish forests and cycles.
But for Kimi Raikkonen, we didn’t notice this before, because the 2007 world champion, if he went to the start of some competitions except Formula 1, it was only rally, karting or snowmobile races.
And last weekend he unexpectedly took part in the Zyttrum triathlon in Zug, Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Zuger, but chose to compete at a shorter distance. This included a 500m swim, 40km cyclo-cross and a further 10km run.
As a result, Kimi took 62nd place among 168 participants, and in swimming he showed 11th time, but in the cycling part of the competition he finished 73rd and ran 10 km with 91st result. And yet it is noteworthy that in his age category, ie 35-44, the 42-year-old Finn came in 18th.
