Alonso: Ferrari is less stable than in my time

Fernando Alonso believes that in those years when he played for Ferrari, the Italian team showed more stable results, but has now lost ground, which, in fact, they successfully use at Aston Martin.

The two-time world champion means that in that period, every year except 2014, he managed to climb the podium and win races, and twice – in 2010 and 2012 – he fought for the title before the final Grand Prix of the season.

“Together with Ferrari, we were always among the leaders, every year. We made almost no mistakes and fought for the world championship victory twice until the last race, Alonso recalled in an interview with Sky Italia. “Fortunate for me and for Aston Martin, the Maranello team is less stable now than when I drove before it.”

Speaking about the balance of power this season, Fernando spoke highly of Adrian Newey, who makes fast cars for Red Bull Racing that allow Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez to regularly win races.

“I think Adrian Newey has always managed to make machines that are technically superior to all the other teams,” said the Spaniard. “Beating his team is always difficult, but that’s the nature of Formula 1. Both Red Bull cars are not only fast, but also reliable, although we may have the chance to compete with them in Monaco and Barcelona .”
