Magnussen: I hope the run of good races continues

Kevin Magnussen credits the introduction of technical innovations as helping him and Team Haas finish in the top 10 in Miami, so he hopes to earn points at Imola too.

Q: In Miami you earned one point and a good impression was made by the work of technical innovations introduced by the team. How would you summarize the results of the previous phase?

Kevin Magnussen: The Miami Grand Prix went very well for us. Of course we only earned one point, but it’s better than nothing. Every weekend we aim to break into the top ten, and we succeeded.

In general, the car made a good impression all days of the weekend, the novelties prepared for this race worked quite well. It seems that we have taken a step forward, and this is a positive moment.

Q: In Italy the European phase of the season starts – is there a change in your approach to preparation?

Kevin Magnussen: We have returned to European time and so far we do not expect any change in time zones. Ahead of more traditional races on cool circuits, where we always like to race, but otherwise work continues as usual. I hope the series of good races continues and we can earn points.

Q: The upcoming Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix is the 150th race for Haas F1 and you have competed in 106 of them. Your relationship with this team has a long and unique history: what do you like about Haas and can you share memories that are particularly dear to you?

Kevin Magnussen: Impressive stats! Time flew by very quickly and you don’t feel like so many races have already passed. Although everything is going great, we have something to remember, but the highlight is of course last year’s pole position in Brazil.

Haas F1 is a small team, so earning points is especially fun as we are dealing with huge organisations. We have come a long way and built a solid reputation in Formula 1. The team is still small in size, but it has made phenomenal progress and I am very happy to be working with them – I hope this is more than a years will last years.
