Alpine Academy member Oliver Caldwell will drive a Formula 1 car for the first time in his career at Silverstone tomorrow, June 15. Caldwell will test last year’s A521 in private testing at Alpine, replacing Oscar Piastri.
Oliver Caldwell joined the Alpine Academy earlier this year. Last season he drove in Formula 3 with one win. In 2022, Caldwell will drive for Campos in Formula 2, and has not yet earned any points.
“The pinnacle of my career was driving an Alpine A521 Formula 1 car at my home track in Silverstone,” Oliver commented on the upcoming test. “I am very grateful to Alpine for this opportunity. Thanks to everyone who made these tests possible.”
Alpine is giving its Academy members the chance to test drive a car in Formula 1. In May, Jack Doohan made his debut at the wheel of the A521.
