The Mercedes team will not delay the technical innovations originally planned for the W14 car at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix until the Barcelona stage.
Most Formula 1 teams have prepared major car updates for Imola, but due to the cancellation of the stage, they are unable to review it. The next race is scheduled on a slow urban circuit in Monaco, where the risk of car damage is high. Given this factor, some teams have decided to postpone the use of new products until the stage in Barcelona. Among them is Ferrari, which has apparently delayed the introduction of the modified SF-23 suspension until the Spanish Grand Prix.
However, Mercedes will not delay the debut of the updated car. A team spokesperson confirmed to Racefans that all W14 upgrades prepared for Imola will be used in Monaco.
For example, next week the machines of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will have an improved front suspension, new side pontoons and a bottom.
