The London newspaper The Sunday Times has published a list of the 1000 richest people in the United Kingdom since 1989, and Bernie Ecclestone, the former head of Formula 1 management, has included this list for many years.
The list is updated each spring and in the latest version, released this weekend, 92-year-old Ecclestone has moved up one place from the previous year.
According to the compilers of the Sunday Time Rich List, he is ranked 73 and his fortune is estimated at 2 billion 498 million pounds.
Of course, he is not the only one on this list who has something to do with Formula 1: 2nd place is taken by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the owner of the company INEOS, which owns a third of the shares of the Mercedes team. This member of the British business community is doing very well: in one year he has risen from 27th to second place, while his wealth has grown very noticeably and has almost reached the level of 30 billion pounds.
Canadian billionaire Lance Stroll is not on The Sunday Times list because he is not a UK tax resident, although he owns many UK assets, including shares in Aston Martin and the Aston Martin F1 racing team. But if he were included in this rating, he would also occupy a very prominent place there with his $ 3.6 billion.
