Frederic Vasseur only took over the Ferrari team at the beginning of the year and he faces an extremely difficult task: to ensure that it returns to the World Championship leaders. So far the Scuderia is not doing well and after five stages of the season it is only 4th in the Constructors’ Championship, but Piero Ferrari believes Vasseur is the right person for such a task. But he can’t do it alone.
“In order for him to achieve something, we have to give him time,” the Ferrari founder’s son, who holds the position of vice president of the company, said in an interview with Italian magazine Autosprint. Vasseur knows what motorsport is because he has been working in this field for so many years and deserves our trust.
But we have to keep strengthening the team and for that we need people with different experience. In the past we have achieved great results when we reformed our organization and invited specialists from other teams.
We are good at some things ourselves, but to strengthen Scuderia’s staff, we need top professionals in other areas as well.
