Vasseur: The team is ready for Leclerc’s home phase

Ferrari boss Frédéric Vasseur and team driver Charles Leclerc are optimistic about the Monaco Grand Prix and look forward to a productive weekend.

Frederick Vasseur: “We are ready to race again – this time at Charles’ home circuit in Monte Carlo. An exciting weekend awaits him and us.

Together with Charles and Carlos we prepared for the podium to make the most of every opportunity that could arise on this difficult track. Both our drivers love the track – Charles has won pole for the past two years and Carlos has always been on the podium with Ferrari. We will do our best to get a good result for our fans.”

Charles Leclerc: “The circuit in Monaco can be described in one word: adrenaline. The track is very narrow and there are a lot of bumps, so you have to rely on your gut to drive a circle quickly. There is no time to catch your breath behind the wheel of Formula 1. In qualifying you attack to the limit and that leads, as I said, to an adrenaline rush. I don’t think similar feelings can be experienced on any other circuit.

In addition, the stage is also important to me because it takes place in the city where I grew up. I grew up near Fontvelier, but there are many more unique places in Monaco. Whatever you want to do, Monaco has the perfect place to do it: sports, fashion or just relaxing. Personally, I love Larvotto beach – I consider it my special place in Monaco.

I have often said that I owe my love of racing to my father and the fact that I was born and raised in Monaco. I was very small when I first saw the Formula 1 cars at Ste. dedicate. I remember later acting out what I saw with my Formula 1 toy cars.

Thanks to my father I discovered the legendary Ayrton Senna. I learned what he was capable of in Monaco and dreamed that one day I would be able to drive on the track too. Being able to race on the same circuit where Senna earned his legendary image is something special to me.”
