Athletistic/ Formula 1. Koji Watanabe, head of Honda’s motorsport division at Honda Racing Corporation, commented on the possibility of cooperation between the Japanese and current Aston Martin driver, Spaniard Fernando Alonso.
“He is such a respected driver. The choice of drivers is the team’s business, but if we cooperate with Alonso, there is no objection from our side or anything else,” Watanabe Speedcafe quoted.
Aston Martin will switch to Honda engines from the 2026 season. At this point Alonso will be 44 years old.
