‘Ferrari is not a retirement home’ – former ‘Formula 1’ chief on Hamilton’s possible move

Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has commented on reports that the Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton can go to “Ferrari” at the end of the season.

Earlier it was reported that Ferrari management had held talks with Hamilton over a deal worth $49million.

“I don’t know why Lewis thinks he will be better off at Ferrari than where he is now. He is highly respected in the current team, he won’t be looked after better anywhere.

Ferrari is not a retirement home. They want to win the World Cup more than anyone. So I think Hamilton will stay with Mercedes or retire, — quotes the words of Ecclestone Daily Mail.

Hamilton’s current contract with Mercedes runs until the end of this year. The Briton is a seven-time Formula 1 champion, having won six titles with the German team.
