Guanyu Zhou: “It’s great to be back in Monaco. Last year I had a rather difficult weekend – in qualifying I already retired in the first session because of red flags, but now I feel I am better prepared for Monaco. I am more comfortable in the car and know that I can attack the limit sooner.
Hope we have a good weekend. The team needs points after problems in previous races. In Miami we already made a good step forward, in Monaco the team brought new items and I hope they will allow us to take the next step.
Opponents are constantly preparing new items. This is more difficult for us because our team is smaller and it takes more time. Initially we have prepared new items for Imola, but we will put them on the car in Monaco, although in Barcelona we will get a more accurate idea of their effectiveness.
In Monaco it is important to have confidence in the car. I think updates will help with that. This year the difference between making it to the final or the second part of qualifying may only be one or two tenths. When the breakaways are so tight, the confidence in the car can be enough to start the next session.”
