Carlos Sainz: I think we have a good chance of winning

Carlos Sainz dreams of winning in Monaco, although he understands that rivals are no less eager to succeed on the famous urban circuit. The Spanish Ferrari driver also proposes to ignore the rumors…

Carlos Sainz: “Our car is more efficient in one fast lap than in a race, and in Monaco that’s what matters. In addition, we have performed well at this circuit in recent years, I have always shown good results here and it is understandable that I try to remain optimistic and think that we have a good chance of winning.

At the same time, we have to be realistic, because we know that now the championship is dominated by one team, it is she who wins all the races. Red Bull remains the favourite, but we will do our best to succeed.

Since Formula 1 has become too predictable lately, on Saturday and Sunday we will try to give everyone a reason to talk about us and become the authors of an entertaining story. Fernando Alonso is of course also dreaming of his 32nd win, but we are all extremely motivated, we all want to win in Monaco, because this is the best place to really shine. And I really like this song.

When asked about the rumors that have surfaced recently – about the possible move from Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari and Charles Leclerc – to Mercedes, Carlos replied: “What do you want to hear from me? I think it’s just the season of stupid rumours. Every year, around the days of the stages in Monaco or Barcelona, talk kicks in that each rider is negotiating with five teams at the same time, but little comes of it in the end.

Two weeks ago they said about me moving to Audi, and now nobody remembers. I think these conversations have been influenced by the cancellation of the race in Imola, which gave everyone a lot of free time.
