Lando Norris finished Friday’s practice in a fairly high 5th position and found himself immediately finding the right rhythm. Oscar Piastri, his new teammate, drove a Formula 1 car for the first time on a city circuit in Monaco, which influenced his result.
Lando Norris (5th): “Fun day and I’m just glad we’re back to work on the track. It’s great to be behind the wheel again in Monaco, and here, as always, you experience crazy emotions.
This track is fun to drive, I quickly felt comfortable behind the wheel, and here it’s always important. We adjusted the settings between sessions and it was a step in the right direction, after which we managed to squeeze a little more out of the car.
We will continue to move in this direction to try to understand everything better. Let’s see if we can add more tomorrow, but Friday went well. I’m probably more comfortable driving the car now than in the previous stages.”
Oscar Pistri (18th): “It was my first day driving a Formula 1 car in Monaco. It was not easy because here is a very difficult circuit and I still have work to do, but this is all very normal when there is an adjustment process.
I think I managed to get through every corner at least once at the fastest possible speed, so now I have to put everything together. Work will continue in the evening and then we will see what we can achieve.
The machine makes a good impression, but the results are again very tight, so even small improvements can pay back a lot. Tomorrow we will try to add more.
