Qualifying in Monaco was unsuccessful for Alfa Romeo. Guanyu Zhou was eliminated in the first session and Valtteri Bottas in the second.
Valttery Bottas (15th): “Today we seemed to have a chance to make it to the final, but on the last lap I got into traffic and lost a few tenths as I was only 15th. With such dense results, two-tenths is important. Overtaking tomorrow will not be easy, the race may seem long, but we will do our best.
There are also positive moments. Up to qualifying we have performed well this weekend, the car is behaving better. I hope we can build on this progress.”
Guanyu Zhou (19th): “The results of the third practice allowed us to hope to reach the second part of qualifying. I thought I could improve and compete for the top ten, but as the track conditions improved I couldn’t get any better grip. The car slid and although I got better on the last try, it wasn’t enough.
Tomorrow I will start from the last row, the race will not be easy, but I will give everything in the interest of the team members and our fans.”
