Charles Leclerc qualified third at his home circuit in Monaco, but the Ferrari driver could lose his grid position after impeding Lando Norris on a fast lap in the qualifying final.
Speaking of his result, Charles admitted that it was difficult for him to claim more given the capabilities of the SF-23.
Charles Leclerc (3rd): “I’m not happy with third place, but on the other hand we have to evaluate the result taking into account the capabilities of our car. Qualifying turned out to be difficult, like all weekend – we have a lot more problems with the car on bumps than the rest.
However, during qualifying the car came to life a little – it was a little easier to drive, which made it possible to get very close to pole position the third time. In general we are satisfied, but of course I prefer first place at the start.
Hopefully I will have a bit more luck in the race than previous years! I don’t know what the weather forecast is for tomorrow, but there was talk of a possible shower on Friday. If the race is run on a wet track, any result is possible. In any case, I intend to fight – let’s see what the result will be.
Carlo Sainz (5th): “The fight turned out to be exciting, I was hoping for a better result, but at the decisive moment I got into traffic. It is a shame. More could have been achieved.
The first attempt in the final went well, and in the second I was hindered in a fast lap by Verstappen, Tsunoda and Norris.
