Last year Charles Leclerc took pole position in Monaco, and now he only qualified third. At a press conference, he was asked what the current car is inferior to last year’s…
Charles Leclerc: “Our car handled bumps and bumps much better last year. If you compare the behavior of other cars with mine, you can see how much my head shakes in the third or 13th turn. Driving has become much more difficult. Last year the suspension absorbed these vibrations and I saw the track much better. This is the main difference.
You release the brakes and see nothing as the car bounces madly over bumps. I struggled with it all weekend and in the final of qualifying I just attacked with all my might and waited to see what would happen. I enjoyed the adrenaline, but I don’t think it was my best lap in Monaco.
Last year I was confident in the car and I qualified well. But Monaco is always interesting, the feeling is really great.”
