In Monaco, Valtteri Bottas finished 11th, which is worse than last year, when he already drove for Alfa Romeo, when he finished 9th. Commenting on the results of yesterday’s race on Scandinavian TV channel Viaplay’s broadcast, Valtteri made no secret of his frustration as he was just one step away from the top ten, but was able to finish for fifth round in a row to earn no points.
“The race wasn’t easy and wasn’t interrupted by the safety car, so there were no external conditions to help us,” said the Finn. “Nevertheless, we have regained several positions, and on a track like Monaco, this is good progress, especially in such conditions.
It was difficult to achieve this, and it seems that we can hardly do more and move up the ranks. We were close to the top ten, but sometimes it happens.
Also, my only pit stop was quite slow and I lost a few important seconds. It was very slippery in the rain in some areas – thankfully I managed to stay on track and avoid contact with the barriers.
It should also be noted that the technical innovations prepared by the team are working, and let’s hope they can add us a little next weekend. In Barcelona we will make the next attempt to earn points.
Incidentally, Valtteri did not rest and already took part in a cycling race in Nice on Monday as training. However, with his penchant for two-wheeled transport, this is also a kind of vacation.
