The current contract for the Monaco Grand Prix expires in 2025 and is rumored to be difficult to extend. The president of the Automobile Club of Monaco, Michel Boeri, said in an interview with Monaco-Matin that everything depends on Liberty Media.
Michel Boeri: “In 2025 we will do everything we can to keep the Monaco Grand Prix, for us it is a tradition, an important international event. We will do our best to extend the contract.
For Liberty Media Americans, financial opportunities are important, not historical factors. If a certain country in the Middle East pays ten times more than us, we are done, like all the Grand Prix in the world. Although we were one of the birthplaces of motorsport, we will no longer be on the calendar.
Monaco offers a vibrant sporting spectacle that others do not have. If the owners of the championship do not feel this subtlety, then it is clear that we are done. But if they’re not too obsessed with their ideology then it’s safe to say Monaco has a chance as this is a special stage.
