Before the start of the season, Alfa Romeo had a filming day in Barcelona. At the FIA press conference on Thursday, team driver Guanyu Zhou answered the question of whether this would bring any advantage over the coming weekend.
Guanyu Zhou: “Obviously it’s good that we did that shoot here at this track, but then we didn’t have the chance to do many laps. I only managed to do one or two fast laps – no more.
In Barcelona we have all done more than a thousand laps, so we know the track very well. It is much more important to pay attention to the little things to feel more comfortable behind the wheel. Personally, I like fast tracks more than slow and technical ones, like in Monaco. I hope this weekend I can fully exploit my style of driving and get a better result than in the last race.
A lot of people probably know that we put new items on the car in Monaco, but this isn’t the best track for their assessment. This weekend we will be able to understand what positions we have against the rest. I hope the updates will help us take the next step forward we need from the start of the season.”
