Carlos Sainz: “You can’t imagine how much effort Maranello put into preparing these new items. They were due to appear much later in the season, but given the current situation we did our best to deliver them as early as possible.
We have deviated a bit from the previous philosophy and will step aside as we believe this will make the SF-23 more manageable and stable during the race – this is our weak point. You saw what problems we had at the beginning of the season, now we are going to take a step to solve them.
We are aware that these innovations will not work miracles or even change the balance of power – this is only the first step of many we have yet to make.
