In recent times, Formula 1 has been actively talking about the possibility of holding one of the stages of the championship in Madrid. In Barcelona, Spanish Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz shared his views on the matter.
“I’ve heard about this project and everything that goes with it,” Racingnews365 quoted Carlos as saying. – For my part, I will do everything I can to keep the Spanish Grand Prix on the calendar, whatever circuit it will take place on.
I think they are doing a great job in Barcelona – I have loved coming to this track for many years. Formula 1 is breaking new ground and adding more races to the calendar in the US and elsewhere, but I don’t think it’s possible to have two races in Spain at the moment.
However, I believe that European circuits should be on the calendar so that the basis of Formula 1 remains in Europe, as in all previous years. Spain is the right country to host a Grand Prix every year and I’m sure Spain will do everything they can to keep the race going.”
