The Melbourne race ended in disappointment for Max Verstappen – the Red Bull Racing driver was unable to finish for the second time this season due to technical problems with the car. Commenting on the weekend’s results, Max called this result unacceptable.
Max Verstappen: “I already lose a lot in the individual competition. Now I don’t even want to think about fighting for the title. It is much more important to finish the race.
In general the day turned out to be bad – the car had no speed so I just checked the condition of the tires to get to the finish on this set. It looked like I was going to finish second easily – there was no point in fighting Charles as I didn’t have a chance to pressure him. I couldn’t finish it though, which is disappointing. This is simply unacceptable.
I knew before the start that there could be problems, not the fact that I will finish, but this must not happen if we want to fight for the title.
