In qualifying in Barcelona, Nick de Vries flew off the track several times, but in the end he was ahead of his partner for the third time in a season…
Nick deVries (14th): “The weekend is going very positively, but I am disappointed with the result of qualifying. I locked up the tires twice coming out of turn 11, so for the second session I simply didn’t have any new sets. There was a wet spot that I didn’t see. It’s a pity we couldn’t reach more, today the car was fast.
I hope we can use this pace in tomorrow’s race. It will take a long time, a lot depends on tire wear and the weather – rain can give us a chance.”
Yuki Tsunoda (15th): “The team did a great job, I put in a good lap, but I made a small mistake when I went off track and my time was cancelled. I was very upset.
I knew I had to give everything to make it to the final of qualifying, so I have no regrets. I was very close to the target.
I don’t have much expectations for tomorrow, I’m ready for any scenario and I’m trying to earn points.”
