In Barcelona, the Williams drivers did not earn any points – the track, which is demanding for aerodynamics efficiency, does not suit the team’s cars …
Alex Albon (16th): “The race wasn’t easy, but it went better than I thought. I fought, I was able to overtake three. Given our delay on Friday and Saturday, I am pleasantly surprised how things went today. If it rains, we might have a chance.
This weekend has shown that on real circuits like Barcelona we can’t get enough downforce. The team is preparing new items, I hope they will allow us to fight in the middle of the pack like at the beginning of the season, but for now we need to get the most out of the car we have. Hopefully we can do better when we get to Canada.
Logan Sargent (20th): “The start from the pit lane cost me too much, I ended up at the back of the pack. The first two segments went well, which is good, but the last segment was hard. We need to understand why the behavior of the car changed from circle to circle – it was not possible to find the grip and the right pace. We’ll take some rest and in two weeks we’ll continue in Canada.”
