In February 2023, the FIA announced the official launch of the procedure for accepting applications from new teams to enter Formula 1. Andretti Cadillac, Craig Pollock’s Formula Equal team, Hitech’s H26 project owner Oliver Oakes and LKY SUNZ from South East Asia.
The deadline for accepting applications from potential Formula 1 teams has recently passed and the FIA has begun to consider them. The federation did not say how many applications have been submitted in total, but noted that it is not ruling out the option of more than one new team appearing in Formula 1.
“The deadline for applications of potential new entrants has already passed,” confirms the FIA spokesperson. “Now the FIA is conducting an initial review. There will be no public announcements during this phase as the federation treats candidates in a confidential manner as it may be necessary to provide clarification to potential entrants.
