The last stage in Barcelona turned out to be the worst of the season for Ferrari – the team only earned 10 points and after the finish drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc complained about the car. 1996 World Champion Damon Hill compared the Scuderia’s performance to trying to run on one leg.
Damon Hill: “In a way we are having a funny season because there is quite a big discrepancy between the team’s form on one circuit and the form on the other. Everyone is scratching their heads as to why they are fast on one track and lose on another. Everything but Red Bull – they get results on every track.
We cannot look at the results of the teams in Barcelona and project them on the remaining stages of the season, because Canada has a circuit with different characteristics, such as Silverstone, and in these stages we will see a different combination of forces.
What can you say about Ferrari? If one of their riders is on top, the other is on the bottom. It feels like they always walk on one leg. It seems that Ferrari is constantly in trouble.”
