Spa and Zandvoort refute rumours

We have already talked about rumors in the European press, according to which the Spa and Zandvoort circuits will host Formula 1 races every two years from next season. However, the promoters of these stages reacted quickly to such reports, saying that they had nothing to do with reality.

“This is pure speculation and I can only guess why such reports appeared,” Vanessa Maes, the promoter of the Spa podium, told Belgian television channel Sporza. “Maybe it has something to do with the news about South Africa.” [об отказе о проведении этапа в Кьялами в 2024 году].

Only FOMs report calendar data. Ideally, as before, we would like to sign a multi-year contract, but we will always be happy with the terms that are offered to us.

Last year we proved that we can organize the Grand Prix according to all modern standards and as a reward we received not only thanks, but also a contract for this year. We will continue to wait until FOM decides whether to extend the agreement.”

Jan Lammers, sporting director of the Dutch Grand Prix, added that the race will take place in Zandvoort every year: “Like our colleagues from Francorchamps, we were surprised by recent rumours. They literally came out of nowhere.

We still have a contract for 2023, 2024 and 2025. We still have a lot of races to do at Zandvoort.”
