Charles Leclerc decided to visit the race at Le Mans for the first time this year and witnessed Ferrari’s historic victory. Maranello built a great hypercar for the World Endurance Championship and the Italian team managed to break Toyota’s long-standing dominance.
Naturally, after finishing the 24-hour marathon, the Scuderia driver congratulated his colleagues on this success.
Charles Leclerc: “Of course I’m in an absolutely happy mood! The Ferrari team won Le Mans back in the top endurance category after so many years and it is a very special occasion.
The second Ferrari crew was a bit unlucky – as far as I know, a small stone got into one of the radiators of the No. 50 car, and it took a long time to get rid of the consequences.
It’s my first time at Le Mans, I wanted to support our team and I’m very happy with our win, it was an incredible experience! I don’t rule out going to the start of this race in the future – why not?
I am happy to be a part of this great event. Of course I will want to do this someday, although I don’t know when it will happen. Meanwhile, I repeat that I am proud of Ferrari’s performance today. It’s just fantastic!
