Robin Raikkonen follows in his father’s footsteps

Last weekend another leg of the Swiss Rotax Max Challenge championship was held at the go-kart track in the Italian town of Castelletto di Branduzzo, near Milan, and Robin Raikkonen, the 8-year-old son of the 2007 world champion, took third place in the Micro class.

We talked about how Robin fell in love with karting and is already making first progress, but the video shared by the boy’s parents on social networks indicates that he did not just follow his father with racing talents.

The short video shows an interview with the taciturn Robin as he takes the stage and accepts the trophy. Here is the full text of that conversation.

Q: This track is similar to the go-kart tracks in Franciacorta and Volena, where have you already raced?
Robin Raikkonen: Yes.

Question: But is it easier or harder?
Robin Raikkonen: Easier.

Question: Well, well, what place will you take in the next race?
Robin Raikkonen: Don’t know.

Judging by the audience’s reaction, the short answers of the young racer amused the audience, and Minttu, Robin’s mother, was the first to write and share this video: “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

Naturally, this touching and funny story in its own way has garnered many reactions from fans who are now following Raikkonen Jr.’s career. to follow.
