In qualifying, Ferrari and Red Bull’s results were very close, but in the race, the Scuderia’s advantage was certain. Sergio Perez explains the reasons…
Sergio Perez: “Ferrari was very fast in the race. We couldn’t match them in any segment. I think this is the first weekend where they are really one step ahead.
In qualifying the results were very close, yesterday it looked like we could fight them, but today Ferrari performed at a completely different level. It is necessary to analyze everything and draw conclusions. In this race we worked a little differently with the two cars, which allows us to do a more detailed analysis.
We learned a lot this weekend. It seems we are putting more pressure on the tires than Ferrari. One of the problems was the third sector – because of that we had to make concessions in the tuning of the car, which hindered us in other sectors.
I liked the fight with Hamilton. It’s a shame they removed the fourth DRS zone – it would be more interesting. Lewis is always interesting to fight – he’s a very tough opponent, but it’s always a fair fight.
