Daniel Ricciardo says he is determined to race again next year as he believes his career is not over yet. At the same time, in an interview with British TV presenter Lissy Mackintosh, he said that thanks to Formula 1 he has acquired qualities that help him in his own business projects.
Daniel Riccardo: “The past few years have been such that I have really learned to appreciate the moments when everything goes well. In the motor racing world it is very easy to convince myself that I will succeed in the next race or in one race and so on. It is not always possible to rejoice at some small achievements.
And also Formula 1 taught me to bring everything to perfection, always thinking about all the nuances, and now it helps me in various business projects, where I try to be creative and also succeed. I would say there was some kind of obsession.
Last year I was in a bad mood, sometimes it seemed that everything was enough for me, but although I felt that I really needed a break, I understood that I still love Formula 1. And this year I want to understand myself to realize how strong this love is.
Absolutely, it doesn’t upset me at all, I don’t think I’ve completed my career. And my plan is this: I will do my best to return. Everyone remembers the famous shot of me jumping in the pool after winning the Monaco Grand Prix in 2018. And I want a reason to jump in that pool again in the future.”
