Alfa Romeo cars get a special logo

The Alfa Romeo team is preparing for the Canadian Grand Prix in the hope that the drivers at the Montreal Circuit Gilles Villeneuve can perform well and both earn points.

Especially in the year of the 100th anniversary of Hugo Sivocci’s historic victory in the Targa Florio race at the wheel of the RL Corsa. It was then, in the spring of 1923, that the legendary four-leaf clover first appeared on his Alfa Romeo, and now it graces the team’s cars in Formula 1.

In Canada, the C43 gets a special version of this logo: the quatrefoil on the hood is framed by a golden triangle.

Valttery Bottas: “It was good to see the team showing good form after some difficult races in Barcelona. Speaking of me, the underside of the car was already damaged by debris on the first lap, preventing the full potential of the C43 from being used. A pity of course, because my partner could show a good pace.

However, another race weekend is just around the corner and another chance to get back out on the track. After the Spanish Grand Prix, I managed to work on a simulator based on the team and visit my home country, Finland, and I feel I am ready for new challenges.

I’ve enjoyed performing in Montreal in the past and I’m already looking forward to the Canadian weekend. We know that our car has potential in theory, so the challenge is to work effectively on the track from Friday, leave the failures in the past and try to top up the points earned.

Guanyu Zhou: “We came back from Barcelona with points and that was of course great. This motivates the whole team to continue the great work we are doing both on and off the track.

I’m glad we’re going to Canada again, because I have fond memories of the first outing at this track, which was a year ago. But now I am determined to get good results again.

Throughout the Spanish weekend we made progress and generally did a good job during the race, worked correctly with rubber and made good decisions, chose tactics. Although the Montreal circuit is very different from Barcelona, I hope we can maintain a good level.

If we work as hard as possible from Friday’s first practice, we can do well in qualifying and then try to score points on Sunday.”
