In 2023 Mick Schumacher will come to all Formula 1 rounds as a Mercedes reserve driver and at European Grands Prix on Friday we are working on a team-based simulator. Mick explained his work on the simulator.
Mick Schumacher: “Actually, my job is to test all the settings that our riders want to test in the simulator. I drive rounds with different options, the team collects data and compares it.
We have a pretty accurate simulator, so we’re not only evaluating the lap times and the data collected, but I’m also getting a sense of how the car’s behavior is changing.
The young driver added that the experience gained at Mercedes will help him in his future career: “When I joined the team I immediately realized that I would learn a lot of new things. I feel like I already got enough information both on track and off track, I saw little details.
If I get behind the wheel again and get a lead driver contract, I will definitely use everything I learned at Mercedes.”
