In general, the Ferrari drivers are happy with the results of the first day of the Canadian weekend, but tomorrow they are eager to achieve more…
Charles Leclerc (2nd): “The Canadian track has its own character. Chasing here is very interesting, also because you have to attack the curbs.
The first day went well, between sessions we made progress in the settings. As always in Canada, the track condition improved considerably as the day went on, and the wind was very strong at times, although it didn’t affect my work much. Now we’re going to focus on preparing for the race.”
Carlos Sainz (3rd): “It’s great to be back on a difficult track in Canada – with lots of bumps and high curbs that feel especially good in 2022 cars.
I’m happy with the results from day one – we made good progress over the course of two sessions. Sometimes it was not easy due to gusts of wind, but we went through the entire program without any problems.
Understanding how tires work will play an important role on Sunday and we have been able to collect a lot of data on this. I’m looking forward to qualifying on Saturday.”
