Video: Alfa Romeo celebrates 113 years of brand history

June 24 marks the 113th anniversary of Alfa Romeo’s founding, and this event is dedicated to a short but impressive video, in which Guanyu Zhou played the main role and drove a famous Formula 1 car.

And he did it in the early morning right on the territory of the Alfa Romeo plant, which is located in the Italian city of Cassino – here the flagship models Giulia and Stelvio are produced. We see them in the following shots, taken on the highway, as they follow a race car driven by Zhou on its way to another Alfa Romeo factory where the Tonale compact crossover is being assembled.

After receiving a radio command to add, Zhou takes the lead, takes off into the distance and soon reaches the goal – the factory in Pomigliano d’Arco, where he is greeted by the production team. The Chinese pilot spins donuts with inspiration, smokes rubber – in general, he demonstrates the capabilities of racing equipment and his skills.

All the while, i.e. for just over a minute, a heartfelt advertising text about the values of the legendary brand can be heard in the background, including the words: “We were born to race” and “This is an Italian story that continues to inspire and seduce.”

Well, modern Alfa Romeo models really look very attractive, and there is no need to talk about cars of recent years, which include real masterpieces of car design.

By the way, they are all gathered in the factory museum, where today another event is celebrated – the 100th anniversary of Hugo Sivocci’s victory in the Targa Florio race in an Alfa Romeo RL Corsa.

It was then, in the spring of 1923, that the legendary image of a four-leaf clover first appeared on his car, and now it adorns the cars of the Formula 1 team. Therefore, among the guests of honor at the museum will be Giorgio Sivocci, the grandson of the winner of that historic race on the roads of Italy.
