Albon, Leclerc and Sainz were not punished

During qualifying, race management had questions for three drivers – in their opinion Alex Albon, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz drove too slowly around the track to allow a margin for the start of a fast lap, in violation of Rule 33.4 of the sports regulations.

After considering the circumstances of these incidents, the stewards did not punish anyone with a common wording for all.

“At the start of qualifying, car 23 braked for turn 13 to make room for a fast lap. The driver claims he had to slow down significantly behind other cars, who did the same, creating a safe gap in front of him due to the very poor visibility caused by the weather.

In addition, he states that it would not be safe to overtake other vehicles in front, because they had not expected such a maneuver at the time.

The stewards believe the situation was potentially dangerous, but given that many were waiting their turn on this part of the track, they decided that several riders were the cause of this situation, and none of them can handle this. be blamed entirely on the flight attendant’s statement.
