Heikki Kovalainen and his English wife Katherine have a son – the former Formula 1 driver has just shared this news on social networks.
“This is a surprise for us on the day of the summer solstice! writes Heikki. Our boy decided to be born a month early! Mother and baby are doing well.
Many thanks to the staff of the Naistenklinikka maternity hospital in Helsinki – they ensured both a safe delivery and aftercare. Now we are already at home and mastered parenting skills.
Heikki didn’t say what the baby’s name was. The first born was born in their 23rd year of marriage to Katherine and seven years later when they officially registered their relationship.
The 41-year-old Finn’s motorsport career continues, but it looks like he has finally shifted his role from circuit racing to rallying. Also this year, Kovalainen made his debut in the off-road electric Extreme E series, where he was part of Jenson Button’s JBXE team for one leg.
