While the authorities of the Spanish capital are negotiating the possible organization of a Formula 1 race, which could take several years to come, the Red Bull Racing team decided to anticipate this while at the same time addressing the local population’s interest in the World Championship and their advertising problems dissolve.
On July 15, Sergio Pérez will have a demonstration drive on a makeshift track in the center of Madrid, with the RB7, a 2011 car. The show is called Red Bull Showrun Comunidad de Madrid and will be held on the evening of the third Saturday of July, and the organizers promise that it will not only have a racing component, but also a musical component.
The T-shaped track will be built around the historic Plaza de Cibeles, and while Sergio’s Formula 1 races will certainly be the highlight of the programme, Spanish fans of technical sports will also see the drift masters’ achievements. In addition, Cristina Gutierrez, last year’s Extreme E champion (by the way, in this series she competed for the Lewis Hamilton Team X44 team) and a repeat participant of the Dakar rally raid, will participate in the show – she will driving her Can-Am combat SUV.
For the public, the Red Bull show is free, and if someone does not have time to take a seat at the front, everything that happens on the track is broadcast on several large screens. In addition, show cars from the world championship’s leading team will be on display in various parts of Madrid to give fans a closer look at the Formula 1 car.
