Alfa Romeo hopes to build on success

Alfa Romeo is looking forward to the Austrian weekend with optimism, hoping to consolidate progress…

Alessandro Alunni Bravi, team spokesperson: “On the way to Austria, we are determined to continue the positive trend of the last Grand Prix. Returning from Canada with another point earned was a valuable reward for the team, we know that at the end of the season every point can matter.

In Montreal we showed good race pace, proving that the C43 can fight for the top ten. Now we are focused on improving the results in qualifying, the team has been working hard on this – our race pace is good and higher places on the grid can make it easier to work towards points.

The Austrian Grand Prix weekend is run in a sprint format on Saturday, which creates unpredictability. We will only do one training, where it is extremely important to do everything as well as possible.

Valttery Bottas: “Finishing in the top 10 in Canada motivated us even more. Our goal is to stay in shape and extend the points streak.

I’ve always enjoyed racing in Spielberg. I got good results here – for the first time I was on the podium, I got two wins. Given the format of the weekend with a sprint and a single practice session, it is extremely important to get the right feeling from the start of the car and build on that in qualifying.”

Guanyu Zhou: “When I go to Austria, I really want to return to the results we showed recently. If we keep going, we can score a lot of points.

The novelties presented a few races ago allowed me to add speed, I am ready to do everything possible to fully exploit their potential. We know that even a tenth can play a role in qualifying, especially during the sprint weekend. You need to stay focused and stay on top all weekend to get even better results.
